After trying 3 different sets of batteries, the sound remained the same. Needless to say, I am very disappointed that this recorder has lasted for only 2 months.
This time, however, I will be sure to obtain some kind of back up warranty or replacement plan along with my purchase. Consequently, I am now forced to make another purchase--something I had no intentions of having to do.
I purchased this item quite recently, and although the sound has never been what I'd call "perfect", I felt it was an adequate recorder for the price I paid. After shipping and handling, this would have cost me more than the price of the item itself.
I do hope other people have better luck with this recorder. However, after using this device for only 2 short months, I played the tape back one day only to find that the sound was completely garbled and distorted.
I contacted the company hoping they would be able to offer some help and advice, but all they did was suggest that I send the item to their facility for servicing.
I wanted a recorder that is not complicated and does the job- this one does and I am happy with it.
I wish it had a few more features, but I only paid around $20. I'm a journalism student, and my professor advised the class to purchase tape recorders for interviews. Like I rated--4 stars. I definitely got what I paid for. It has been PERFECT for interviews. The microphone is definitely loud enough, and it's compact, so I can put it in my purse for recording.
If you're looking for an inexpensive recorder with basic control this will fit your needs.
Versatile and yet small enough that I can carry in my pocket. Comes in handy at meetings. Great recorder. Voice activated.
